Xbox 360 wireless adapter problems?

Up until today, my xbox 360 wireless adapter has been working fine, but recently, when I turn on the system, it doesn’t work. I unplug it and plug it in again but the light flashes red once, really quickly, then doesn’t light up at all. After that the wireless adapter doesn’t connect and nothing lights up. I’ve tried turning my router off and on again and the router works with the internet on my computer, but I just cant seem to connect to xbox live. Does anyone know what is wrong with it?

  1. i am not sure what is wrong with the adapter but it is possible to try to plug it into the USB ports in the front of the console it is possible the back USB port is faulty or shorted out

  2. that happened to me heres the process on how to fix it

    To find your router’s address:

    1. On your computer, click Start, Run, type cmd, and press ENTER. A window with a command prompt will appear.

    2. In the window, type ipconfig /all and press ENTER.

    3. Look for a line that starts with “Default Gateway” and write down

    4. go to your xbox system settings and manualy put the gateway id

  3. Yes, I know whats wrong: it’s an xbox 360 manufactured by microsoft! It took me 2 HOURS to configure my wireless adapter on 360 and pair it with my very common router, 5 minutes on the PS3- true story.
