There’s some type of copyright issue that doesn’t let you record PS3 gameplay with a HDMI. Will a HMDI bi-direction switcher fix this?

  1. you can’s use hdmi , you have to use an av or component cable , the ps3 used hdcp cpy protection so will not allow recording via hdmi output

  2. No, the HDMI output from the PS3 is encrypted. You have to use component cables or the special PlayStation A/V cable that comes with the Elgato Game Capture HD. That means you need the original Game Capture HD and not the HD60.
